Four Public Hearings Set for Smithtown Board Meeting

Zone change petitions, zoning code and map of Smithtown changes, and town code amendments to be heard Thursday by the town board.

The Thursday night meeting will kick off with four public hearings, which include zone change petitions, zoning code and map of Smithtown changes, and town code amendments.

First, the town board will hold a public hearing on their own motion for a zone change petition on town property on Route 25A near Dunin Street from PG, or Professional Business, to R-10, which is a 10,000 square foot residential single-family property.

The board will also hear a zoning code and town map petition by Edward and Patricia Martella, to change of zone of a Lake Avenue in St. James property from WSI, or Wholesale Service Industry, to PB, or Professional Business.

King Kullen on Washington Avenue near Third Street in St. James is looking to for change of zone of a property from R-10, or 10,000 square foot residential, single-family, to CB, or Central Business.

Lastly, the town board will hear proposed amendments to the town code regarding property maintenance involving properties with bamboo.
