Run Permits, Board of Zoning Appeals Fees to be Discussed at Town Board Meeting

Public hearings to build wireless communication facilities in Smithtown and Nesconset and more round out Thursday's town board meeting.

Public Hearings

The town board will introduce two public hearings Thursday night. The first is for proposed amendments to the Building Zone Ordinance, or chapter 322 of the town code, relating to the Board of Zoning Appeals fees. The second public hearing involves a petition (#2011- 05) by T-Mobile Northeast to amend the zoning code and/or map of the town, enabling the company construct a wireless communication facility at 391 North Country Road in Smithtown.

The granting of permits or first readings for run/walk events throughout the town, usually a dominant section of the agenda, only account for three items at Thursday’s meeting. Second readings are scheduled for the Smithtown Christian School Run/Walk, the Wood Park Primary School Annual Fitness Walk, and the Kings Park Chamber of Commerce Kings Park Day.

  • The appointment of Scott J. Bottner and Lauren Biggane to the Youth Advisory Board by Town Supervisor Patrick Vecchio – the term is set to last from May 27 to Dec. 31, 2013
  • SiteTech Wireless’ two zoning petitions (#2010-12 and #2010-13) to construct personal wireless services facilities for property in Smithtown and Nesconset
  • To continue the use of services from Germano & Cahill to represent the town on solid waste matters for the inter-municipal agreement between Smithtown and the Town of Huntington, and the services of Covanta for the Resource Recovery Facility

The will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Eugene A. Cannataro Senior Center, located at 420 Middle Country Road in Smithtown.
