Smithtown Notebook: Catherine's Estates Subdivision Approved with Revisions

Here's a rundown of what took place at town hall this week in the Town of Smithtown.

The planning board approved the subdivision of a one-acre lot at Catherine’s Estates on Darling Avenue in Smithtown for two single-family residential lots, with two site adjustments made by the board.

One adjustments to the subdivision plans made by the board was for the applicants to allow for “clear, unobstructed access” for emergency vehicles and emergency personnel to see the new residents who will move into the back portion of the lot from the road. To “preserve the buffer” between the estates and the nearby cemetery, the board also asked the applicants to move the garage an additional five feet east from the proposed garage plans on the lot.
