Smithtown Town Hall Set up for Ice Distribution, Charging Station

Residents can use town hall to charge phones on Friday and receive ice on Saturday.


Residents in need of ice and a charging station can head to Smithtown Town Hall at 99 West Main Street.

Residents can charge their phone on Friday until 5 p.m. A tractor trailer of ice will be distributed beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Library Services

On Saturday, the three buildings will be open normal Saturday hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  On Sunday, the Smithtown and Kings Park Branches will be open normal Sunday hours from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  Commack is still without power and remains closed.

At the present time the Smithtown, Kings Park and Nesconset buildings are open.  There is no internet service at any of the buildings yet, but wi fi is available and patrons are welcome to come into any building to charge their electronics and use their own portable devices through wi fi. 

Garbage pickup will resume Monday, Nov. 5.

Several town offices are without power . To contact building, engineering, planning or DEW in an emergency situation, call 360-7512.

The Parks Department has sporatic phone service. Furniture pickups are suspended for one week.

According to the town website, town trees are being addressed in priority order. If you have tree on your property, the town is asking that you contact your insurance provider.

According to the town, LIPA is currently assessing the area and there is no official eta on service resumption.
