Town Code Ammendments, Personnel Matters and More to be Heard at Town Board Meeting

Here's a rundown of the happenings at town hall for the Tuesday afternoon town board meeting.

The Town of Smithtown board will host a board meeting Tuesday afternoon at town hall on West Main Street at 2 p.m. Here’s a breakdown of what the town board will be voting on.

Public Hearings

The town board will introduce one public hearing Tuesday afternoon. The hearing will be to consider proposed amendments to the Transfer of Density Flow Rights in the town code, relating specifically to municipal facilities.

A public hearing to be advertised will be voted on Tuesday afternoon for the June 23 town board meeting. The proposed public hearing is to consider amending the town code regarding bamboo.

Personnel Matters Up for Vote

Personnel matters the town board will be voting on Tuesday afternoon include seasonal appointments and reappointments for the recreation department effective June 25 for a total of $5,000 and positions effective July 5 for a totoal of $5,000; seasonal appointments for the Department of Parks, Buildings and Grounds for a total of $5,000 effective June 8; the appointment of Edward Miles to the Municipal Services Facility as a laborer, Kelly Burke for a park attendant position in the public safety department effective June 8, and to change the title to Student Intern III and hourly pay rate of Christina Butindari in the Comptroller’s Department effective June 8.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
