WATCH: Smithtown Gov't Pushes Halloween Safety

With Halloween here, the Department of Public Safety promotes child safety while trick-or-treating.

To keep kids safe in the streets on Halloween, the town's Department of Public Safety released a video on how to keep kids safe locally.

John Valentine, director of Public Safety, provided the tips which include adding reflective tape to costumes, avoiding cutting across people's lawns for potential hazards, staying out of the homes of strangers, and more.
