WATCH: Smithtown's YouTube Channel Promotes Green Homes

The Town of Smithtown released a video Tuesday via it's YouTube channel discussing the benefits and of keeping your home environmentally friendly.

The town is a member of the Long Island Green Homes and Buildings Consortium, which in association with the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency, provides a program that is designed to help home owners make improvements to their home that makes them more efficient, according to the consortium's website.

The video takes you through how your home would be analyzed, the savings you would incur with a more energy efficient home and how the project would need to be financed.
