East Field Hockey Continues Playoff Run Against Ward Melville

The game is set for a 2 p.m. start at East.

East varsity field hockey will continue its playoff push Monday, as the team will take on Ward Melville at home. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

East (12-2-0, 14-2-0) defeated West Islip (8-6-0) Wednesday in their first playoff game, and will take on a Ward Melville team that went 11-3-0 in the division this season, 12-4-0 overall. East handed Ward Melville a 2-0 loss on Oct. 26 to end the regular season.

East entered the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak, defeating cross-town rivals West, Walt Whitman, Northport, Sachem North, Huntington, Harborfields, and Ward Melville. The team’s most notable win in that streak was against Sachem East, who was undefeated on the season prior to the matchup.
