Photo of the Day: Accompsett Students Video Conference with Pen Pals

Pen pals usually communicate via handwritten letters, but fourth grade students at Accompsett Elementary took the form of communication a step further with pen pal video conferencing.

Students in Roseann Piazza’s class held a video conference with pen pals from Olmito Elementary School in Texas, a project designed for students from both schools to strengthen their technology curriculum in a long-distance collaborative learning environment.

After exchanging multiple handwritten letters, the students saw each other face-to-face for the first time in the distance learning lab at West where they discussed things from climate to school and hobbies, and spoke directly to their individual pen pals.
