PHOTO: Reading is Cool at Accompsett

Students participate in a variety of activities to promote the importance of reading and writing.

Adults may think it's cool to read, but the kids at Accompsett Middle School know it is.

The students recently participated in "It's Cool to Read" programs during its seventh annual literacy week, where they were made aware of the importance of reading and writing through activities including a visit from author Todd Strasser, a new and gently-used book drive, student book reviews, “I Was Caught Reading” student recognition and more.

As children's book authors, we at Team Dawg applaud and support the efforts of all involved in participating in such a worthy program! Great job by all!

Fabulous job! I'm glad to see some students are still reading books, which is a rarity these days.
