PHOTO: West, East Students Selected for Clarkson University Award

Criteria includes a good academic standing, community service and strong leadership ability.

Two juniors from Smithtown High School West and one from Smithtown High School East were selected for the Clarkson Leadership and Achievement Award.

Kavita Jain and Hunter Holland from West were selected for the award, the East selection belonged to Zachary Rowe.

Clarkson University, located in Potsdam, NY, invites high schools to participate in their Leadership and School Scholars Award Program every year and juniors who attend the university will be awarded an annual scholarship. The scholarship requires a strong academic standing, community service, numerous extracurricular activities, and strong leadership ability. The academic interests for the award are limited to engineering, business, health, science, or liberal arts.
