PHOTOS: Nesconset Elementary's Final Event

Students, parents and teachers have a celebration before the school closes its doors.

To close Nesconset Elementary, both students, parents and teachers celebrated “Teaching the Mind, Touching the Heart," 104 years of teaching.

This was the final community-wide event before the school officially closed where those in attendance participated in family picnics, games, and more with former graduates, retired staff, central office administrators and Board of Education members.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
