Six Smithtown Students Named National Merit-Semifinalist

Students selected from among more than 16,000 across the nation.

Smithtown Central School Districts has six students who have been selected as National Merit Semi-Finalists for 2014. 

The six students selected include Eda Algur, Kathleen Heslin, Bryan Wehner, Grace Zhao, Caleb Zhu, who were chosen from among  16,000 other students who took the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test as a junior, and was among the highest-scoring students in New york State  

Each student will have to submit a detailed scholarship application from their schools and themselves. 

Finalists for the 2014 National Merit Scholarships will be announced in February 2014 and winners named in the spring.

I love the comment, Elsie! As you can see...no comments here. Only when there is a way to create negative spin do the gremlins come out and converse with themselves and their own multiple usernames. Congrats to these students, their families and (dare I say on here) their teachers and principals in the district.
