Smithtown Schools Close Friday, Cancel Afternoon Activities
Smithtown schools has cancelled all afternoon and evening activities on Thursday.
Smithtown students will get a snow day on Friday as the region braces for a winter blast.
Smithtown Central School District has announced its schools will be closed on Friday ahead of the pending storm. All afternoon and evening activities are cancelled on Thursday and Friday.
The National Weather Service predicts that Long Island will see between 8 and 10 inches of snow, starting Thursday night, and has issued a blizzard warning for 6 p.m. in the area.
The Town of Smithtown's School Age Child Care program will only operate until 4:30 p.m. Thursday and will be closed on Friday.
