The playoffs begin for both boys and girls varsity basketball Friday as High School West boys and girls will hit the hardwood.
West girls will be on the road to take the court against Half Hollow Hills East. Game time is set for 4 p.m. West wrapped up the regular season with a record of 9-7, with a 7-5 record in League III play. Half Hollow Hills East finished 10-8 in the regular season, with a record of 7-7 in League II play.
West boys are also on the road Friday and will face-off against Commack at 5 p.m. West ended the regular season with an 11-7 record, 8-4 in League III play. They will face a Commack team that went 11-7 in the regular season with a 7-7 record in League I play.

East boys will be on the road to face Lindenhurst on Saturday at 1 p.m. With the ninth seed, the Bulls had a regular season record of 12-6, 8-4 within League III. Lindenhurst, the eight seeded team, wrapped up the regular season with a record of 14-4, 11-3 in League I.
