West Honor Society Members Make Sandwiches for the Homeless

High school students put together more than 800 sandwiches to be distributed throughout the metropolitan area.

Students at High School West got in touch with their benevolent side and helped the homeless by donating sandwiches to be distributed by St. Anne's Church in Brentwood.

Students from West's National Honor Society used donated peanut butter, jelly and bread and made 849 sandwiches. Homeless people throughout the metropolitan area will be receiving them via the church.

"High School West students have worked hard this year to help those in need by filling the shelves of local food pantries, donating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and working at local soup kitchens," said Dr. Joanne Figueiredo, Honor Society advisor.
