East Boys Soccer Raises Nearly $3,000 for Angela's House

Charity game raises money for Hauppauge-based nonprofit helping medically frail children and their families.

Smithtown High School East boys soccer team raised nearly $3,000 for a Hauppauge-based charity last Thursday.

East Bulls varsity soccer team went purple by playing a charity game against West Islip to raise funds for Angela's House, a Hauppauge-based charity that helps medically frail children and their families.

“Through the efforts of the students, teachers and volunteers, the team was able to raise $2918 for Angela’s House and more importantly raise awareness within the community about our mission to helps children," said Bob Policastro, founder and executive director of Angela's House.

The money was raised through a combination of raffling away baskets donated by local businesses and collected donations.

East Boys Soccer beat West Islip, 3-0, to bring their record up to 6-4 in Suffolk's League II.
