The Smithtown Special Library District: On-Your-Own Train Trip to NYC

 ,   Add to calendar
Main Street Kings Park NY 11754  See map

Enjoy a day in the city with reduced-rate tickets via the LIRR and the Smithtown Library!

Anyone – regardless of library district – is welcome.

Round-trip fare for ages 5 to adult is just $8.50 and children under 5 travel free. (Those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.)

Register and pay (non-refundable cash or check made out to “Smithtown Library”) in person at either the Commack (3 Indian Head Rd; 631-543-0998) or Nesconset (148 Smithtown Blvd, Nesconset; 631-265-3994) Branch of the Smithtown Library by 9pm, Monday, May 7.

Meet a library staff member on the day of the trip at the Kings Park Rail Road Station house at 8:45am, when the tickets are given out.

The train leaves at 9:10am and arrives at Penn Station at 10:42am (transfer at Huntington).

We must be on the same train and remain in the same car as a group from Kings Park to Huntington and Huntington to Penn. After that, you’re on your own!

Come home that day on any Kings Park bound train that leaves Penn before midnight.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
