Bigger Paycheck For New School Superintendent

Anthony Annunziato's salary at Smithtown will be more than his salary at Bayport-Blue Point and will also exceed what current superintendent Edward Ehmann makes.

When current Bayport-Blue Point Superintedent Anthony Annunziato takes over for the following this school year he will make more than his predecessor. 

According to a Newsday report [subscription required], Annunziato stands to make $259,000 a year, a number that is 6.8 percent more than the $242,550 he makes at Bayport-Blue Point, and roughly $40,000 more than the $219,555 Ehmann takes home.

The report also states that Annunziato will pay 20 percent of his health care, where Ehmann does not currently pay into his health care.

Following the March meeting board President Gladys Waldron said the board was liked his history working as a school administrator and that he would fit in well with the district.

“His experience, his ability to communicate with the board members, his references were outstanding – we checked out about 16 references,” she said Waldron. “We feel he’ll be a good fit for Smithtown.”
