Boating Safety Classes for Teens

Middle and high school students are invite to take part in a course by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

As the weather is finally warming up, it's time to get out in the water - but remember: safety first.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will teach a boating safety course for middle and high school students through the Smithtown Youth Burau. With new boat safety laws coming out, all persons operating a boat will have to take a course. Ron Doda, Flotilla Commander Division Flotilla 22-04, will be facilitating the class.

The course, titled, About Boating Safety (ABS), will be held on three consecutive Wednesday evenings for three hours in the Community Room of the Horizons Building at 161 East Main Street in Smithtown.
