Fifth Annual Rockin' for Autism Concert on Tap for Mulcahy's

Wantagh venue to host music benefit for the Developmental Disabilities Institute this Sunday from 3-8 p.m.

The Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) is hosting its fifth annual Rockin' for Autism concert this Sunday from 3-8 p.m. at  in Wantagh.

The benefit concert for Smithrown-based DDI, a service provider for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, will feature will feature several Long Island rock bands.  

"Rockin' for Autism is all about coming together as a community and helping those who cannot help themselves," said Jim Cronin, co-chair of the fundraising event and a member of the DDI Foundation Board. "This event will be a wonderful way to share a great time while raising funds to help aid the much-needed services provided by DDI."

The donation to attend the music charity event is $30. The scheduled lineup includes local bands 1 Step Ahead, Bon Journey, Time Warp and Soul Dr. G's All Star Veteran Band. Gift baskets auction, raffles, food, cash bar and more will be available for all attendees.

"It is heartwarming to have talented individuals enthusiastically lend themselves to help benefit the more than 1,500 adults and children who receive services daily through DDI's many programs," Cronin said. "I encourage everyone to come out and take part in this special day with some great tunes, terrific prizes and good people."

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
