Two Grads Start 128-Mile Walk for Smithtown Nonprofit

St. John graduates will donate money to Developmental Disability Institute of Smithtown.

Two recent St. John's graduates have started a 128-mile walk from the Brooklyn Bridge to Montauk Point to raise money for a Developmental Disabilities Institute in Smithtown.

Nathan Holmes and John Kenny started their walk from the Brooklyn Bridge on Tuesday with hopes of reaching Montauk Point by June 4, Newsday reports.

All the money raised by the walk will be donated to the Developmental Disabilities Institute in Smithtown.  DDI helps to address the needs of children with Autism and other developmental disabilities by providing therapeutic intervention. It serves more than 1,500 children and adults by providing educational, residential, day habilitation and vocational services.
