Smithtown Recreation Program offers a pre-school readiness program for children ages 18 months - 5 years, participate with a caregiver on Friday.

Looking for a fun thing to do with your friends on a Friday night? Head to the Mills Pond House for a fun night of art making for Kids Night Out. Have a fantastic Friday night while parents get a free night to themselves. Children, ages 7 -10, will learn about cartooning and character development to create their own story. RSVP in advance, $20.

Calling all performers. Acoustic Afternoons at Mills Ponds, led by singer/song writer Christie Bakr, invites performers to play 2 - 3 original or cover songs at an open mic session on Saturday, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Light refreshments are served, no cover charge.

Fitness-4-You will host “Work out for Breast Cancer” at the Nesconset gazebo on Smithtown Boulevard this Sunday, from 9 a.m. to noon, to raise funds to support breast cancer awareness and research. Classes include Zumba, kickboxing and kids fitness.

Hear the Island Hills Chorus, an award-winning chapter of the Sweet Adelines International, as they perform “New York, New York” at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hauppauge Public Library. Sponsored by the Friends of the Hauppauge Library.
When it comes to al fresco dining this summer, Blend Wine and Tapas is the place to be. Live music fills the outdoor patio Thursday through Saturday at the restaurant, located at 321 Nesconset Hwy., in Hauppauge. This weekend, features Star Struck on Friday and Vincent Norman on Saturday.

- “Hair: An American Tribal Love-Rock Musical” comes to the stage of Soluna Studios in Hauppauge this Friday at 8 p.m. Hear the story of a “tribe” of long-haired hippy during the “Age of Aquarius” living the bohemian life in New York City while fighting conscription to the Vietnam War. Shows are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday.

Red Mango at the Mayfair Shopping Center in Commack will hold a fundraiser Saturday, from 2 pm. - 8 p.m., with 20 percent of all yogurt sundae and smoothie sales will go to the Long Island chapter of the Arthritis Foundation
