Smithtown Agenda: St. James Day, Harvest Festival

Check out what's happening around Smithtown this weekend, Oct. 4-6.

The mercury will reach the upper-70s this weekend so there's no reason to not get out and enjoy some of the events on tap in the area. Here's a rundown: 

SMITHTOWN

Harvest Festival

St. James Episcopal Church celebrates their Harvest Festival this Saturday, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Bring the family for fun, games, handmade crafts, the farmer’s market and more.

Harvest Fall Festival

Borella’s Farm Stand in St. James will host its month-long 8th annual Harvest Fall Festival on weekends from Oct. 5 - Oct. 27, and Columbus Day. There are hayride, pumpkin picking, a corn maze and more for families to enjoy.

St. James Day

St. James Chamber of Commerce hosts the 26th annual St. James Day on Sunday, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. A portion of Lake Avenue will be lined with vendors, games, inflatable bouncers and more for your enjoyment. Free admission.

COMMACK

Motown Concert

"Motown the Concert" will be held at The Suffolk Y JCC in Commack Saturday. The show honors some of the top Motown tribute bands to grace the stage. For tickets and information call (631) 698-9696. Tickets are $35. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

F.I.S.T. Drug Awareness Forum

A drug awareness forum will take place at IBEW 25 Union Hall (370 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway on the Hauppauge/Commack border) Friday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Every day, more than 2,500 teenagers abuse prescription medication for the first time. More than half of teens obtain medications from friends and family and 12 to 17 year olds abuse prescription drugs more than they abuse ecstasy, crack/cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine combined.

KINGS PARK

CAPS Stand Up, Don’t Stand By 5K

Child Abuse Prevention Center is holding its first Stand Up, Don't Stand By 5K Walk/Run and Kiddie Fun-Run on Sunday at Sunken Meadow State Park. Walkers, runners, families, school and corporate teams of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Check-in starts at 9 a.m., race starts at 10 a.m. Proceeds will support CAPS Bully Prevention Center.

Farmers Market

The Kings Park Farmers Market is held on Sunday from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the municipal parking lot across from the firehouse on Main Street.
