I don't think we need another medical building - there are some many in the area that are not beingRead More used, why don't they just renovate and updated them - traffic is bad as it already we don't need more

American Dog sells puppies from inhumane Midwestern, USDA-licensed puppy mills. Until Simon MallsRead More goes humane and stops foisting animal cruelty on it's unknowing customers, I will not shop at any of their three malls. Google puppy mills to learn about the puppy mill-pet store connection.

Have not been there in years. The food was horrible, and expensive. It used to be great years agoRead More and we went all the time. Don't know what or why the change. Smithtown could use a really good restaurant. affordable and family friendly. Garden Grill is also too small inside and felt I was sitting on top of everyone.

So I called a lawyer and when he asked for the video tapes they said at the brand new store that the video was accidently erased !! Rite !! they suc ked

The Patch now feels like one big advertisement page with the occassional local news story. Why fixRead More something that isn't broken?
jim jongebloed May 13, 2013 at 03:40 pm
I was there on May 4. I went inside to order and they gave me my order as well as someone elses. IRead More pulled up Friday the 10th to get some fries ( love the seasoning they use) and everything was gone. Empty store-no signs. I'd give SOnic a shot if they take it.
A Smithtown architect has asked Smithtown Town Board to consider zoning code changes to permit outdoor dining for a future restaurant at 2188 Jericho Turnpike in Commack, shown on the map above.

Out door seating is good for business as well as making for a more small town feel. I suggest thatRead More anything that is brought up to the town board other than bull dozing the existing business's that support this town and creating parks would be the only thing the Nesconset coalition would agree with . I don't understand why they always need to hold the hard line . Why not work with business to make them fit into the spirit of the area instead of just taking the other side

That cup cake looks absolutely beautiful!! I have been to Cupcake Couture a few times and I haveRead More never seen such intricate and detailed cup cakes there before!! I cant wait to go back and try them! I would have liked to have read a little about the cake designer and bakers who produced such a elegantly decorated cake.

Isn't the government going to raise the drinking age to 42? Just kidding - looking forward toRead More getting sloshed at the grand opening :) .
Jezco is one of the many Kings Park businesses accused of operating against town code at 1 Lawrence Road.

Aidan, you must not have read the sign outside his property. I don't recall it saying "RecycleRead More material only." I think it says he takes just about anything. We already have a recycle drop off run by the town for residents and it is within minutes of his facility. We don't need his "vital" service. And yes, those industries have harmed me and many others. Do you need to see medical records of local residents or logs of when they had to run from their cars to their homes or when someone got sick to their stomach or had headaches called from the air quality or respiratory problems of their children? Check out the dangers of industrial air pollutants and educate yourself. Those industries have blatantly operated with no regard to the wellbeing of the PEOPLE who live around them and to deny that people have been harmed is disgusting.
Aidan May 14, 2013 at 08:58 pm
@KP Angie - How can you compare a thief to a neighborhood business? I am extremely doubtful that anyRead More of them are actually harming you. The only fact stated is "Leteri is storing garbage on his property." In case you didn't know, the nature of his business is to accept waste and recover the recyclables. As a result, he is "storing garbage on his property." This is a vital service for the survival of society, as well as the other neighborhood businesses. Support industrial storage zoning.
KP Angie May 14, 2013 at 07:49 pm
I guess if you move next door to a thief, it is not illegal if that person robs you. TheseRead More businesses have caused physical harm to residents and yes, Leteri is storing garbage on his property... same Leteri.

I love Aldi!! I use to shop at Publix (grocery store popular in Florida), which is extremelyRead More over-priced. I didn't realize it because I had been shopping there for over 15 years. After some financial difficulties, I started shopping at Super Walmart. I definitely saved a lot compared to Publix, but it was still a struggle. I discovered Aldi about two months ago--oh my gosh, I have found nirvana! I spend less than $80 a week to feed myself and my two children--and I mean "feed"--I come home with so much food it is ridiculous. So what, I have to pay with cash, deposit a quarter for a cart, and bag my own groceries--who cares. Definitely worth it!

Amazing store! At least 95% of my grocery shopping is done there. Excellent quality, and fantasticRead More prices that are better than sale prices at other stores. Plus, you don't have to clip coupons or worry about sales - the prices are always great. I always carry my debit card, so that's no problem. I like reusable bags because it helps the environment - just keeps the bags in your trunk and you're always ready to go. Please try a variety of items a few times and compare prices before you say anything negative about it. The managers and cashiers have always been positive and friendly too.

Have to say the "Aldi Bashers" may not be who you think they are....I was in the storeRead More yesterday and a mom with 3 kids in tow was stocking u an an assortment of items including chips and cookies....all the kids kept asking is "are the cookies any good?"...it was obvious the kids were looking for the "national name brands". Sad young kids are so brainwashed.
Smith Haven Mall. Patch File Photo
Donna Garrambone Ryan May 5, 2013 at 09:19 pm
Thank you for the info. I was going to attend, but I'm a total animal lover and rescuer. I willRead More NOT be going anymore.
Kristie M May 5, 2013 at 02:29 pm
If you love animals almost as much as Mom, please skip this event. Smith Haven has allowed aRead More puppy-mill stocked pet store to lease space. They are selling puppies from cruel, inhumane puppy mills, using USDA-licensed as a guarantee. All it guarantees is that your puppy came from a mill. The USDA does not license small, reputable breeders, nor would a reputable breeder sell to a complete stranger (would you?). Any pet store that tells you otherwise is lying. Please Google puppy mills and learn the truth behind pet stores. Tell Simon Malls you are not supporting animal cruelty and will shop elsewhere.
Gas lines in the wake of Hurricane Sandy on Long Island (Patch File Photo)
greencap May 6, 2013 at 05:49 pm
Yes I think price gouging should be legal. If you really need gas RIGHT NOW you can pay more forRead More it. Otherwise it is really dictated by whom has the most time to waste waiting on a line which probably consists of a lot of non productive horders. Or if you are going to make there be no price gouging, outlaw hording.
