It's "alumnus". "Alumnus" for a male, "alumna" for a female,Read More "alumni" plural male, "alumnae" plural female. Please take note: the word "alum" is not a correct word and is only mantioned in the Webster dictionary to help people like this article's writer that have problems in writing the Latin language correctly.

I have read the past election results. STA is nothing. I could get Peter Griffin (family guy)Read More elected if I tried. But he would be horrible for our kids so we won't do it. Lol Do any of them want the seat? It's an easy win if they want it. Reach out and find out.

A couple of years ago we had some good board members. Two years ago the STA put Ms McEnroy and MsRead More Plourde to run against two of them the STA went all out to get them elected they even had the teachers campaigning for them in the schools. I don't know if you know that Board Member Ms McEnroy is a former teacher and worked for the STA. The other good board member didn't run for re-election last year. We need people like them back on the board.

I was at the last meeting. I was horrified to put it succinctly.

Tiger Schulmann’s should get an award for putting up the most illegal signs on telephone polesRead More (and should bear the cost of having them removed).

This brings back many happy memories when I was one of 24 Indianettes at Smithtown Central High forRead More all my 4 years of high school (1969 - 1972). We were also champs... including State champs! We also danced at Stony Brook University and for the NY nets or was it Nicks? Is there a varsity team too?

Parents need to tell Dr. Annuziata that he made the wrong decision so he will think twice about itRead More next time. Next time there is a dangerous storm warning I will urge my son to keep the kids home and I'm sure many parents will do the same. The secretary at my gs's school told me lots of parents picked kids up early. Good for them!
Elsie February 9, 2013 at 08:42 pm
You can blame it on the superintendent. All warnings were issued. The biggest problem is not havingRead More access to extra buses. Buses weren't leaving early elementary schools until after 4 and then driving treacherous routes. The did not get to the late elementary schools until well after 5. By then most parents picked their children up. If you could get through to the school or to the transportation office, you were told that buses were running "a few minutes late."
Lilly February 9, 2013 at 02:16 pm
My childrens bus was in an accident on the way home with them. Both the bus and a car hit an iceRead More patch and crashed. The car was also coming home from picking up school children. The school should have had early dismissal.
