Time for a change. Get some of these infighting Republicans out. The pie is all theirs, yet theyRead More fight among themselves for a bigger piece.Greedy pigs at the trough.

Jerk face! Where the hell have you been? It's been a while since your retardedness has infected aRead More topic I posted in. Did you have a "senior" moment and get all confused since they changed the layout of the Patch? I see you're not here to post anything constructive, just start trouble, so why don't you just mosey on down to OTB where you belong.

Glad to see the Smithtown budget passed again, over the protests of ROBKOZ.Can't wait for TimmieRead More Bishop to post another of his informative blogs for the people of Smithtown.

Someone told me they saw 5 teachers from St James El. shopping at about 1:30 in the afternoon atRead More Costco. That's about $500.000 in salary going shopping when they should be teaching our kids.

4,852 people voted in a town made up of over 115,000? Way to show up at the polls. What a joke.

People of our community should be seriously concerned with the rise in taxes. It's sad that theRead More school districts go right for the jugular and take away kids' programs as the FIRST step when they have to reduce budget. It is a complete farce and done deliberately to get the knee-jerk reaction they want from parents. Sad, sad, sad.

Everyone who can vote please go down in local elections EVERY VOTE COUNTS. Seriously the differenceRead More could be a few votes. You better bet that all the people with kids in 5th grade orchestra etc are going to be down there voting for. Most of the increase is to fund pension benefits that are simply outrageous (every teacher that retireds gets their huge last year salary for life!)

They do business because it's full serve. Many people in the area can afford the extra $0.12 perRead More gallon. They would rather let someone else pump it for them.

Maybe they will lower the price I don't know why anyone would go there.

Austerity for the win.

Got to love some of the comments elsewhere! "It's for the kids." LMAO. The intelligenceRead More level of Long Islanders has dropped sharply this past decade. You are definitely the school districts sheep. Some people even think that by increasing taxes it'll keep out the least common denominator. I got news for you Smithtown, it's already here and it's growing.

The superintendent should take a pay cut. So should the principals. In this world of an economyRead More that is affecting all of us - they should take a cut. Not raise our taxes. And you are right - with declining enrollment HOW can then ask for more money? They will scare all of the residents and say if they don't get their budget they will take away. How about taking away your $300K SALARY? VOTE NO and sleep better tonight. AND>>> keep in mind they will sneak in another vote in June so be ready to VOTE NO AGAIN I voted NO and felt so good. Yes saw the lawn crew- not impressed. They should send them on Jericho Tpke and Indian Head Rd and have them cut that grass LOL!! Good Luck Smithtown residents hope we are all getting good news and the budget was voted down.

I would also like to see how much money we invested for these savings ,Typically the cost for theseRead More items take several years to get a return on investment

That sounds great. HOWEVER, they need to turn the lights out when the library is closed and there isRead More no one in the library. I mentioned it to a couple of the trustees prior to a meeting a few months ago and they said it was a glitch in their automated system and they would make sure that the contractor took care of it right away. Well now it's months later and I've gone past the Smithtown (Main) Library several times hours after closing time and all lights were burning brightly and there wasn't a single car in the parking lot. Just think how much they could save the taxpayers if they actually turned off the lights.

Great cause, great event....... just don't be confused by the picture. That picture is from St JamesRead More Day, not last year's Community Carnival

Claudia is a classic NIMBY. Where do you think the natural gas is going now? Its' a byproduct whenRead More drilling for oil. On the famous Alaska pipeline project of the 70s' it was (is) burned off since it was uneconomical to do anything with it at low prices. The USA selling nat gas overseas would offset the oil drilling costs, thus making gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel, motor oil etc cheaper. If it is still being burned off, what does that do to our "carbon footprint."
