Caleb Smith State Park stretches across 543 acres of land and includes freshwater wetlands, ponds, streams, fields,…More and upland woods. The park is also made up of hiking and nature trails, bird walks, fly-fishing and a junior angler's fishing area. There is also a nature museum, which includes many different workshops and programs. Activities and events vary by season, and include: Beat the Heat, Animal Olympics, South Side Saunter, Buzz Says the Bee, and Wet-n-Wild.
The park was originally called Nissequogue River State Park, a name now used for another park located in Kings Park.
