Fitness Friday: Trails Over Treadmills
Smithtown parks offer five-mile outdoor trails.
Take a break from your treadmill this weekend to take advantage of the scenic, outdoor trails in Smithtown's county and state parks.
The trail at Blydenburgh County Park is a 5.7 mile loop trail. It is primarily used for walking and hiking and is accessible year-round. The entrance is located on Veteran's Memorial Highway across from the Denniston Building and parking is free.
The trail at Caleb Smith State Park is also five miles long. Walkers and runners pass ponds and run through the trees on non-paved paths. It is accessible year-round and the entrance is located on Jericho Turnpike. Parking is $8 without the Empire State parking pass.
