Butterfly House Program

Visit the Sweetbriar Nature Center, where visitors can walk through a house of 200 butterflies and learn the various stages of a butterfly's lifecycle. The event also features a children's craft.$3 for adults, $2 for kids and seniors.

Fall Festival at the Mills Pond House

Join Singer-songwriter Rich Broillet and fellow Long Island musicians as they present a night of music at the Smithtown Township Arts Council. Broillet has organized the evening as a fundraiser for the arts council to continue providing cultural programs to Long Island performers and audiences. Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted. There will be  special song tribute to John Lennon. Families are welcome to bring children (ages 6-12) for arts projects during the performance (with advance reservation only, limit one child free per paid adult, additional children $5 each). On Sunday, Sol y Sombra dancers will perform and have a participatory audience workshop.

Main Street Drink Specials and Music

Enjoy $5 Miller Lite bottles at Katie's. From 4 - 7 p.m., Old Street has half-price drinks and a free buffet and half off appetizers from 10 - midnight. Rockwell's has corporate networking happy hour, "2fers" and half price appetizers at the bar from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m and it is Ladies Night at Napper Tandy's.

Stony Brook Faculty Exhibition

Take a short ride to Stony Brook University's Staller Center for the Arts for their annual art showcase featuring works by 17 Stony Brook University faculty members including Toby Buonagurio, Stephanie Dinkins, Christa Erickson and Alan Goodrich.

Smithtown Heritage Country Fair

Walk over to Smithtown's historical district for hay rides, kids games, crafts, antique cars, cooking, live music, pony rides, a blood drive and more sponsored by the Historical Society. There will be a re-enactment of Charles Lindbergh's flight over Smithtown, Native American crafts, old-time baseball, Civil War soldiers, games, cooking, traditional dancing and a plant sale. Admission for adults is $5, children $3.

River Road Market

A new market is opening at Temple Beth Shalom that will be running every Sunday rain or shine.  There will be craft, antique, memorabilia, candy, jewelry and clothing vendors.

Sands Point Medieval Festival

Take a trip to Port Washington and go back in time with Medieval Scenarios & Recreations, Inc. Watch live horse-mounted jousting, armored fighting, swordplay, puppet show, musicians, dancers and a castle siege.  Learn archery, many medieval crafts, and armoring from artisans. Get involved in  games, archery, tournaments, and maypole dance, and shop craft and food vendors.
