PHOTOS: Music, Sculptures and More at Main Street Masterpieces Art Gallery

The Developmental Disabilities Institute displayed the art from people with Autism and other developmental disabilities in an elaborate, unique gallery Thursday.

Main Street Masterpieces Art Gallery featured a collection of work from people with autism and other developmental disabilities in the Adult Day Program at the Developmental Disabilities Institute on Thursday.

The show was the grand re-opening of the gallery, and featured sculptures, canvas paintings, photographs, handmade jewelry and more. Violinist Alfred Anderson of the Adult Day Program, whose standout song of the afternoon was “Moonlight Sonata” by Beethoven, performed throughout the event.

DDI provides services for children and adults with autism throughout Long Island, located at 99 Hollywood Drive in Smithtown.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
