Cold Treats Attract Main Street Crowds

You don't have to walk far to find an icy, cold treat along Smithtown's Main Street.

"On hotter days when people are walking the street, there's a lot more walk-in traffic. There's a lot more customers," said Nicholas Chiarelli, behind the counter of the family-owned Uncle Louie's Italian Ices.

Uncle Louie's has more than 60 flavored, including sugar-free options.
The shop's Rainbow flavor, a patriotic combination of cherry, lemon and blueberry, is an annual favorite with customers along with vanilla chip.

Chiarelli said his personal favorite ices is the chocolate peanut butter.

Other places to grab a cold, sweet treat on Main Street include Red Mango, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Yogurtini.

Yogurtini is running a special offer featuring jumbo cones for $4 and a dozen mini-cones for $12.
