LA Fitness Opens Preview Center

Center shows gym amenities, rates and more.

While construction continues at the soon-to-be home of LA Fitness on Smithtown's Main Street, the gym has opened a preview center on Route 111 in the same shopping center as .

The preview center, located at 81 Route 111, opened Aug. 24 and will close when the gym opens.

"People of the community can come in and see what we're all about, see some pictures on the wall, a layout of the club, take a look at the different packages that we offer and find out about LA Fitness and see if we have something that fits their lifestyle," said sales manager Dave Aigen.

This particular LA Fitness location will be a full-service facility, accoring to Aigen, which will feature a basketball court, a spin studio, swimming pool, sauna, babysitting for kids and more.

While able to discuss packages with potential customers based off their individual needs, Aigen could not discuss rates for the story as they are subject to change as the club opening nears.

Here's a look at the rates of other nearby gyms:

$49.95 a month for a momth-to-month membership

$39.95 a month for 12 months

$34.95 a month for 12 months prepaid

$59 a month for a month-to-month membership

$30 for 30 days trial membership

$49.95 Passport membership, with access to any club in the network

Based on how disrespectful they (LA Fitness) were to other tenants and patrons of the other stores in the shopping complex, H**L would have to freeze over before i went to them. Anyone who wanted to shop at any of the stores on the west end of the complex had to park by cvs, then walk north to main street, then go back south to any store or restaurant they wanted to shop at. LA FITNESS hasn't even opened, and has damaged their neighboring tenants income.

You are absolutely right pj. Its comparing apples to oranges. Assisted living is for the elderlyRead More that cant take care of themselves. What noise is created. They are indoors and at the age where driving may not be an option. And the facility faces Route 25A. A main corridor that has been used as a main road for over 50 years. A road that has gas stations, bars, hospitals, nursing homes, retail stores and high schools presently on it. Why not an assisted living.

Exactly. Don't see a problem having it. Many of them don't even go outdoors.

We have an assisted living center right next to our neighborhood. For the most part it is quiet,Read More there is not a lot more traffic, it even looks nice. I will take it over another strip mall, supermarket, bar any day . Like the previous poster wrote, it serves our community.
