Need a little internal Spring cleaning?

Internal Cleaning

A buildup of toxins may be making you feel bad. Chemicals, free radicals, and other potentially harmful substances are in almost everything we breathe, eat, drink, or touch. We also produce internal toxins during normal processes of digestion, waste elimination, stress, and combating infection.

Normally the body is quite efficient at removing these unwanted substances, but not always. Unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as a poor diet and lack of regular exercise, can negatively affect the body's detoxification processes. Excess toxin exposure or a buildup due to impaired detoxification activities in the body can lead to seemingly unrelated symptoms: fatigue, malaise, irritability, mood swings, bloating, insomnia, headaches, and muscle/joint aches and pains.

A metabolic detoxification program can help, but beware of "fasts" or quick fixes. Just as you unclog the gutters & leaders on your home to give them the ability to work correctly, a metabolic detoxification program is designed to help you clean out junk that may have worn your systems downor created a traffic jam of toxins that's been diverted to body fat for storage.

Detoxification activities are driven by nutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. So while juice or water fasts may give your digestive system a break, they do little to fuel detoxification activities adequately, and may trigger the body to store unhealthy fat. And some detoxification supplements may contain ingredients that lack adequate scientific proof or safe history of use, or fail to promote balanced detoxification activities in multiple phases. That's why it's important to follow a clinically evaluated metabolic detoxification program that includes adequate dietary intake and science-based nutritional support. Any of the staff at either St. James Nutrition, or Innovative Nutrition in East Setauket can help you with the appropriate supplement choices to get started on your spring cleaning program.

Tomorrow is the vote..vote NO NOW or our taxes are going to continue to sky rocket. Unless we doRead More something this town will continue to spiral down. More taxes aren't going to help. We need to cut expenses and get ourselves on a fiscally responsible plan.

Isn't that above the cap? Funny, when another news source mentioned 5 districts that are breakingRead More the cap they didn't mention Smithtown. Dn't worry, the district will bully and scare the parents into voting yes by threatening programs instead of doing what they need to do which is reduce administrative costs.

We can all make a statement one way or another when we vote. However, that statement should be madeRead More on a state level not the local level. Boards of Ed are powerless to do any real cost cutting. The state needs to take this on. We need real reform in Albany to reduce the ever increasing pensions and life long benefits that educators enjoy. Combine this with letting Albany decide salary increases for all educators and we can guaranty tax reductions over the next few years. Its that simple, Boards cannot do these. Lets get Albany to move on these NOW!
