Stop in to Vine 2 Wine on Sunday, November 18, from 1-4pm for a Wine tasting and Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings! We will be tasting Wilson Daniels Central Coast Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, both of 2010, Javier Sanz Rey Santo Rueda 2011 as well as Bordelet Sidre Brut Tendre. The pinot boasts strawberry and fresh bing cherry aromas that lead to exotic berry and Asian spice flavors. This wine’s true varietal character is demonstrated in its silky body and smooth finish. The sauvignon blanc features orange blossom and citrus aromas. Alluring flavors of orange and grapefruit dominate the palate. Bright acidity balances the plush mouthfeel, leading up to a clean finish. The rueda is a lemony, light straw-yellow colour, clean and bright. Very fine, full and complex aroma of green apple, aniseed, a touch of tropical fruits, and a lovely, bracing minerality. Citrus flavours lead to notes of green apple and the characteristic bitterness of the Verdejo, with a perfect balance between alcohol content and acidity. The cider is exceptionally off dry. Produced in France from one hundred year old apple trees, this cider makes a perfect treat to cozy up with for the fall or winter. If all of that weren't enough to draw you in, we will have live musical accompaniment and a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross's efforts to help those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. The more the merrier!

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
