Do You Honor Fuel Efficient Parking Spots?

Having a fuel-efficient car will get you farther in between fill-ups, and if it's a hybrid you can even use the HOV lane when it's just you in the car. But now there's preferential parking?

Locals who flocked to the opening of the newly renovated Smithtown Library last week most likely noticed the parking spots that are now reserved for "fuel-efficient" vehicles, a practice you can also find in Lake Grove's Whole Foods lot.

But unlike handicapped parking, you can't be ticked for parking a gas-guzzler in a spot reserved for green cars.

Which begs the question: Do you honor these spaces?

And what do you consider fuel-efficient? Is there a fuel economy rating you think that these cars should fall below?
