Smithtown native Adam Gordon Engel has died. He was 66 years old.
According to a Newsday obituary, Engel, who passed away Aug. 3, was a Hauppauge High School graduate from the Class of 1963, a Suffolk County Court Officer for 37 years, and served in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969. Engel, a resident of East Quogue, was the husband to Theresa and father to daughters Nicole and Ashley.
Calls will be accepted on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home, located at 406 East Main Street in Riverhead. The funeral service will be held for Engel on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Calverton National Cemetery.
