Crime Report: Man Receives Stiches in Assault-Robbery

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown.

Anisa Escobar, 41, of Mount Sinai, was arrested in Smithtown on charges of petit larceny on Feb. 5. Escobar allegedly purchased a television at the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Setauket and later returned the empty television box to the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Islandia. She allegedly brought the empty box to the television isle and switched it with a full box, then brought the full television box to the return desk and received a refund.

Andrew Lastuvska, 25, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on charges of loitering and unlawful use of a controlled substance on Feb. 6. Lastuvska allegedly stayed at a location at the intersection of Moorewood Drive and Woodrow Lane in Smithtown on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. for half-hour with another person while the other was in possession of a narcotic.

Jennifer Lehman, 25, of Smithtown was arrested in Smithtown on seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges on Feb. 6. Lehman allegedly possessed drugs at the Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct on Feb. 6. 

Christopher Langhorne, 25, of Riverhead, was arrested in Smithtown for first offense DWI on Feb. 5. Langhorne allegedly was pulled over for speeding in a 2000 Nissan driving westbound on Route 25 speeding on Feb. 5 12:50 a.m.

Thomas Dowd, 20, of Holtsville, Shawn Omack, 20, of Ronkonkoma, and Anthony Distasi, 21, of Holbrook, were arrested in Smithtown on charges of second-degree robbery, second-degree physical injury/displaying a firearm and third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury on Feb. 5. Police said the three allegedly chased a man, threw him to the ground, stole his backpack and kicked and punched him numerous times causing a laceration to the head that required stitches at Stony Brook University Medical Center at 2:05 a.m.

Carolyn Demicola, 24, of Centereach, was arrested in Smithtown on Feb. 5 on first offense DWI charges. Demicola was pulled over for speeding at 10:52 p.m. in front of 291 West Main Street in a 2007 Mazda.

Christopher Papile, of Miller Place, was arrested in Nissequogue on Feb. 6 on charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon/firearm and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Papile allegedly possessed a knife and marijuana in a backpack in a 2002 Ford at River Road and Parsins Lane at 1:14 p.m.
