Crime Report: Pervert, Prostitution and Phone Calls

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in the Fourth Precinct.

The Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these arrests and incidents in Smithtown during Sept. 4 - Sept. 10:

Arrests: 

  • On Sept. 4, Mark Bischoff, of Smithtown, was arrested for DWI and prostitution charges in Commack.
  • On Sept. 4, Andrew Rubio, of Patchogue, was arrested in Smithtown for assault.
  • On Sept. 5, Louis Esposito, of Smithtown, was arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • On Sept. 6, John Kalata, of Nesconset, was arrested in Smithtown for DWI.

Incidents:

  • On Sept. 4, a woman at a tanning salon on East Main Street reported a male watching her get undressed.
  • On Sept. 4, a resident reported receiving harassing phone calls on Maple Avenue in central Smithtown.
  • Between Aug. 25 and Sept. 5, a(n) unknown person(s) was reported to have stolen bucket seats and the dashboard, radio antenna and the top of a 2008 convertible on Liden Place.

Dn't worry, the district will bully and scare the parents into voting yes by threatening programs instead of doing what they need to do which is reduce administrative costs.

We can all make a statement one way or another when we vote. However, that statement should be madeRead More on a state level not the local level. Boards of Ed are powerless to do any real cost cutting. The state needs to take this on. We need real reform in Albany to reduce the ever increasing pensions and life long benefits that educators enjoy. Combine this with letting Albany decide salary increases for all educators and we can guaranty tax reductions over the next few years. Its that simple, Boards cannot do these. Lets get Albany to move on these NOW!
