UPDATE: Traffic Now Open After Early Morning Accident
The early morning accident has LIPA at the scene making repairs.
UPDATE: 6:35 p.m. – Traffic is now open in both directions on Route 25 at Terry Road following an early morning accident. The roadway was closed for roughly 12 hours following the accident, which took down power lines.

An early morning accident on Jericho Turnpike has the road closed in both directions at Terry Road.

According to police, a call came in at 2:19 a.m. for a Dodge pickup that crashed into a pole and overturned after losing control of the vehicle while driving on Jericho Turnpike. The crash took down power lines that LIPA was called to the scene to repair.
While police didn’t provide an estimated time when the repairs would be complete they did say the road would be closed for a while.

The driver was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center for non life threatening injuries.
