100 Things to Do in Smithtown: #81 - Camp at the Knox School

The Knox School is featuring seven weeks of fun at their Summer Adventures day camp for grades kindergarten through 10.

Among the many summer camps offered in Smithtown is one provied by the Knox School, located on Long Beach Road in Saint James, featuring their Summer Adventures day camp for kindergarten through tenth grade.

The camp offers flexible scheduling and various activities five days a week starting June 27 through August 12 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Campers are invited to participate in all the exciting daily activities and choose the days and weeks they wish to attend. These activities include arts and crafts, basketball, chess, dance, deck hockey, drama, fine arts, kayaking, music, orienteering, science, swimming lessons by a certified Red Cross instructor at the campus pool and tennis.

Rates are now $111 per day for grades Kindergarten through six and $124 per day for grades seven through nine.

The Knox School also offers specialty summer programs such as sports and riding camps including their Baseball Camp, which features three weeks of baseball fundamentals with Oreste Marrero, a former MLB player with the Los Angeles Dodgers. This camp has three sessions. The first is offered June 27 through July 1, the second is July 5 through July 8 and the third is July 25 through July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is $325 per session.

"Why are Smithtown teachers continuing to pay for school supplies out of their ownRead More pocket?" Since when? Ever see the big list of supplies kids get in their folders at the end of the year for them to bring in next year? I think you're talking about the wrong school district.
