Former East, West Students Set to Graduate from College

Two colleges announce their upcoming graduating classes with several former students of the Smithtown Central School District on the list.

While the school year is winding down for the Smithtown Central School District and seniors will be ending their high school careers, past Smithtown graduates are ending another chapter in their academic lives by graduating college.

SUNY Oswego announced that six former students of the district are scheduled to finish their baccalaureate studies and walk May 12 in the school’s 151st commencement ceremony.

  • Matt Doyle, Nesconset (communication)
  • Robert Hasho, St. James (marketing)
  • James Bilello, Smithtown (adolescence education)
  • Ross Glassberg, Smithtown (zoology)
  • Danielle Meyer, Smithtown (technology education, magna cum laude)
  • Marc Sklar, Smithtown (creative writing)

The district also produced two Keene State College graduates. The New Hampshire college had its largest graduating class ever – 1,196 degrees were handed out to 1,107 students.

One more to add to the list from Smithtown West...Evan Schielke graduated from LIU Post (Accounting). Prior to graduation Evan was awarded Dean's Award for Achedemic Excellence, NYS Society of CPA's Award and, was announced as the Valadictorian for the School of Professional Accountancy. Evan will be continuing on for his MA in the Accellerated Accounting program at LIU Post in the Fall.

Thanks for the update on Evan! These are the two schools so far that announced graduates, when more schools release that information we'll post it for sure!

They are indoors and at the age where driving may not be an option. And the facility faces Route 25A. A main corridor that has been used as a main road for over 50 years. A road that has gas stations,bars, hospitals, nursing homes, retail stores and high schools presently on it. Why not an assisted living.
