Smithtown School District's Website Fresh for New Year

New beta version of website is a 'work in progress' that will offer parents and students new features.

Smithtown parents and students are getting a fresh apple to start the 2013-14 school year on the district's new website. 

Smithtown Central School District launched the beta version of its new website on Monday morning. School officials are hoping it will become a regular resource for the community with the latest news and details on upcoming events. 

"There is a lot of growing still to be done with this site, and we appreciate your patience as we add and test new features in the coming days and weeks. Soon, you will see more information about class schedules, school nutrition, co-curricular activities, and everything in between in this space," reads a letter posted by school officials. 

The new website was built by on the Whisper Platform by Digital Natives Group. Digital Natives is a digital marketing company founded by three Smithtown graduates in 2011. 

The header of the new website includes the categories of: Board of Ed, District, Parents, Students, Staff, Contact and Schools. 

Previous items posted on the school's new website are archived for parents and students' use.
