As Friday's rainfall is predicted to transition to a heavy snow, Smithtown Central School District has cancelled all Friday and Saturday activities, according to the district's website.
School officials announced all after-school and evening activites will be cancelled on Friday and Saturday at all of the district's 14 buildings. The afternoon session of the Alternative School Program is also cancelled.
The Town of Smithtown School's Age Child Care Program will only operate until 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Here are the sports taking affected by the cancellations:
- Smithtown East Winter Boys, Girls Track at Suffolk Community College, Brentwood – Saturday, 11 a.m.
- Smithtown East Wrestling Tournament at Hofstra University – Saturday and Sunday, noon
- Smithtown West Winter Boys, Girls Track at Suffolk Community College, Brentwood – Saturday, 11 a.m.
